PIAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS AIRING MAY 25 ON PCN
Pennsylvania's premier scholastic athletes compete for state gold on the
Pennsylvania Cable Network this Saturday as the television service offers
live and taped coverage of PIAA track and field championships.
Starting at 9:00 a.m. on May 25, PCN brings exclusive coverage of high
school track and field finals to millions of cable subscribers in the
commonwealth. Live preliminary and title races from Shippensburg University
will be interspersed with taped field events from the preceding day. The
entire package of outdoor championships airs again on PCN at 4:00 p.m.
"We were overwhelmed last year by the number of friends and relatives of
student athletes who appreciated having Pennsylvania high school track and
field championships available on cable," said PCN Programming Vice
President William J. Bova. "Our first-ever coverage of the 2001 state title
meet made television history, and we look forward to another terrific day
of scholastic competition."
A listing of Saturday's anticipated on-air schedule is detailed below. All
events include girls' and boys' finals in classes AA and AAA unless
otherwise noted.
PCN delivers the nation's most comprehensive coverage of high school
athletic championships, carrying state title contests in sixteen different
sports. This June, the statewide cable service is airing PIAA finals in
girls' spring soccer, boys' volleyball, baseball, and softball.
