SUBJECT:       2010 District 6 Open Basketball Tournaments

On the D6 Website BB page is your application for the District 6 Basketball Tournament.  The tournament remains open and no team will be denied admittance because of win/loss records. There will be a $75 entry fee for each team entering the tournament. The check, payable to “PIAA District 6”, must be in my office by, Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

The committee is encouraging high school principals to carefully consider their records and potential to compete in championship competition.  There is no guarantee of travel reimbursement until after the tournament when the District Committee will evaluate the entire tournament.

At this time, no game sites have been chosen.  The Committee will make every effort to schedule games at sites where it is most convenient for the participating teams.  However, schools should realize game sites are limited by size of the facility, availability and other factors, which at times hinder the scheduling process.  The committee reserves the right to change the site for any game during the tournament if it is necessary to preserve the welfare and safety of the schools involved or for any reasons required to successfully complete the tournament.

In order to enter your team in the District 6 Tournament, the Basketball tournament director must receive completed entry forms by 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 for A, AA, and AAA teams and by 9:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 for AAAA teams.  Entries will not be accepted after this date and time.
