District 6 Cross Country Championships

The District 6 Cross Country Championships are still scheduled to be held at the Forest Hills Middle School course.

If this changes due to the property being sold, information will follow regarding the new location.

Site speciifics will be confirmed in early October.

This gives you an early “heads up” as to a major change to a PIAA Rules Modification!   During their summer meeting the

PIAA Board of Directors rescinded their modification that did not permit the wearing of Jewelry in the sport of T&F/CC.  The bottom line

is that Track & Field and Cross Country  athletes can now wear jewelry while competing.  This includes the wearing of ear rings, necklaces,

bracelets, wrist bands, hair barrettes, hair clips, beads, headbands, wrist watches, sunglasses, religious medals, adorned scrungies, etc.

Hats and head coverings MUST still be APPROVED in advance by the PIAA and the coach or athlete will need to  produce the letter from

the PIAA to be able to wear such apparel while competing in a Meet.

***** Since this is a PIAA modification change and NOT a NFHS change the wearing of jewelry will become effective this fall during the Cross Country season.

Please share this information at your earliest convenience with all of your Cross Country coaches.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter
